Good Samaritan Health Care Center, part of Regency Pacific Management, seeks a compassionate Speech Therapist to cover maternity leave for an existing team member. This role focuses on evaluating and treating residents and patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
Plan and administer medically prescribed speech therapy treatment for patients with speech, language, and swallowing problems.
Evaluate speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
Review referral, physician’s orders, patient’s condition, and medical records to determine speech therapy treatment indicated; accept physician orders regarding speech therapy services.
Perform initial patient evaluation before initiating therapy and document OASIS assessments at appropriate time points.
Plan and prepare written treatment plans based on evaluation of patient data in conjunction with the physician, patient, and caregiver(s).
Conduct rehabilitative treatment plans to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and non‑organic etiology.
Other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of speech pathology and language disorders.
Licensed as a speech‑language pathologist by the Washington State Board of Speech‑Language Pathology and Audiology.
