About the Hospital Hartrick Veterinary Hospital is a progressive 5.5-doctor practice expanding services to include weekend urgent care. The hospital is undergoing a building expansion and remodel to add new equipment and services including intraoperative X-rays and chemotherapy.
Responsibilities
Provide in-patient medical care: administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics and monitoring; place IV catheters; draw blood; run lab tests; administer IV fluids; assist with cleaning, feeding, and walking patients.
Anesthesia/Surgery support: prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery; sterilize equipment and instruments.
Dentistry: dental cleaning, polishing, and assist with dental surgeries.
Radiology: position patients, assist with radiographs, and manage image transfer.
Laboratory duties: collect, prepare, run or submit tests; read and record results as indicated.
Client communication for hospitalized patients: updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up
Provide client demonstrations/education for at-home care
Manage appointments: blood draws for monitoring, post-op checks, suture removals, etc.
Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed
Mentor and train new team members; inventory control; restock supplies
Prepare prescriptions and dispense medications/refills
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds (team lift beyond 50 pounds).
Endurance to stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
Ability to work in a noisy animal environment; potential exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and controlled substances.
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity to operate equipment and input data.
