The Refrigeration/HVAC Construction Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems on construction projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications, while upholding quality standards and promoting a productive team environment. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of refrigeration and HVAC construction crews. Oversee the installation, assembly, and start-up of refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical systems according to plans, specifications, and codes. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards on all job sites. Provide hands-on support with refrigeration and HVAC installations, piping, ductwork, and equipment placement when necessary. Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to engineering designs. Manage materials, tools, and equipment on the job site; coordinate deliveries and inventory. Collaborate with management to resolve technical and scheduling issues. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance skill development and job performance. Maintain accurate records of project progress, labor hours, and materials used. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and system issues during construction. Communicate daily with management regarding job status, challenges, and workforce needs. Education and Experience
Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record. High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration and HVAC installation, with at least 1 year in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical construction practices. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. OSHA 10/30 certification preferred. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders or scaffolding. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and use of hand/power tools. Excell Benefits
