Mechanical Engineer
with strong background in
Steel Melt Shop (SMS) operations , including
Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), Ladle Metallurgical Furnaces (LMF), and Continuous Casters . This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while requiring regular travel to client sites to oversee engineering projects, troubleshoot complex systems, and support operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems related to
EAF, LMF, and Casters
within steel melt shop environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and project management to ensure seamless integration of mechanical solutions. Provide on-site technical expertise during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Lead root-cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective actions. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates for internal stakeholders and clients. Train and mentor client staff on mechanical systems, ensuring proper operation and maintenance practices. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or related field (Master\'s preferred). 5 years of mechanical engineering experience
in steel production or heavy industrial manufacturing. Proven hands-on experience with
EAF, LMF, and Casting equipment . Strong knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, and industrial maintenance practices. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 40–60%). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Preferred Skills
Experience working with international steel manufacturers or EPC firms. Proficiency with CAD tools, FEA software, and industrial simulation tools. Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steelmaking industry. Benefits and Equal Opportunity
