We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mold Maker to support our client's production engineering team by building, repairing, and maintaining molds and tooling for injection molding operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mold assembly, machining, and finishing processes, with a strong commitment to quality and precision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities Tool and Mold Maintenance
Perform maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of molds using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscopes, and projectors to ensure accuracy.
Repair damaged molds by replacing inserts, components, or other parts as needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, maintenance, and adjustments performed on molds and tooling.
Machining and Fabrication
Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment to fabricate or modify components according to blueprints and specifications.
Create and assemble new mold cavities, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Use appropriate machining techniques and equipment to achieve precise tolerances and surface finishes.
Quality and Process Improvement
Verify that all mold components meet manufacturing and quality standards.
Identify opportunities for improving mold design, tooling efficiency, and maintenance procedures.
Ensure that all work adheres to established quality policies and departmental standards.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all Occupational Safety and Health policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns immediately.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company 5S and safety standards.
Comply with all HR and departmental policies.
Prerequisites
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Apprenticeship or formal training in mold making preferred.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in mold making, assembly, and repair.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Working knowledge of machine tools, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM, and welding equipment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Must provide own basic mold-making tools.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
Certification in Tool and Die Making or Mold Making.
OSHA Safety Certification.
