Reporting to the Design and Engineering Manager, the Injection Mold Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and engineering tooling protocols for molds, jigs and fixtures as required to meet products specifications. Designing and developing components, products, equipment, and systems.**What a typical day looks like:**



Design and engineer moderately complex tooling protocols for molds, jigs, and fixtures as per product specifications.



Participate in design reviews.



Critical thinking, strong communication and vision



Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluation.



Implement cost effective tool design changes.



Collaborate with other team members to qualification, sampling, and final part approval.



Provide status reports as per established schedule



Prepare and maintain documentation related to tool room equipment.



Assisting in the design and development of engineering layouts, drawings, and documentation for components, assemblies, and subassemblies using CAD systems. Collaborating in the development of new or modified designs.



Assisting in establishing design standards and configurations, ensuring adherence to company standards and specifications.



Preparing ECOs and bills of materials that correspond to engineering drawings, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.



Applying knowledge of design and engineering to recommend improvements to products and processes, contributing to the continuous improvement efforts of the organization.



Performing engineering tests, checkouts, and development engineering tasks. Diagnosing malfunctions, analyzing test results, and proposing and implementing changes to resolve problems.



Devising, fabricating, and assembling mechanical components or assemblies for various products. Conducting tests on complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design and obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.



Recording test procedures, results, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods. Maintaining software, documentation, and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications.



Assisting engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for testing customer products per their specifications.



Training technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment, ensuring proper understanding and utilization.**Requirements:*** Bachelor's degree NOT required, but MUST have at least **3 years' work experienc**e in the following:* **Plastic injection molding*** **Mold design*** **Tool design / engineering*** Interpretating layouts and drawings* Capacities analysis* Proficiency in MS Office, e.g. Excel, etc.* **Above work experience from** the following types of companies required: **mold design / mold making and/or medical device manufacturing (or similar).****Ideal/highly desirable work experience:*** Expert knowledge in injection plastic molding and tooling experience* SolidWorks; Siemens/NX, and/or PRO-E* Knowledge medical validationsJT05
