Full Time (40 hrs/wk) GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the physician and the Office Manager. The Orthopedic Technologist's primary job responsibility is to provide patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care provider. QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required Working knowledge of medical terminology required BLS required within 90 days of hire Two to five years experience preferred JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. Perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints. Assist physician in back office duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs and patient history, and assisting with minor procedures. Adhere to prescription refill protocol. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures. Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols. Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, medications and immunizations. Perform associated clerical tasks including scheduling, filing, recalls, etc. Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times. Work as a team member within the orthopedics department and all other departments. Document work processes as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Closing and EEO
