Medical Biller
Overview Our behavioral healthcare client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their administrative team. This position supports billing and reimbursement for behavioral health services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all payer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple clinicians and programs.
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit claims for mental health services to Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans.
Review billing data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
Post payments and adjustments, reconcile remittances, and research discrepancies.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and initiate appeals as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely billing records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Communicate with clinicians, clients, and payers to resolve billing and authorization issues.
Assist with monthly reporting, audits, and other accounting or administrative projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience; behavioral health experience preferred.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, insurance authorizations, and payer requirements.
Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare billing rules and claim submission processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with EHR and billing software (Credible or similar system experience a plus).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
$50,000 - $60,000
