The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas renewable energy generation systems, primarily on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable natural gas upgrading.

Position Description Goose Works (GW) is a subsidiary of Maas Energy Works (MEW) specializing in the design and development of biogas handling, compression, and upgrading equipment as well as accessory equipment used on bio-digester sites. GW is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to design and manage the process and system design of new biogas blowers, compressors, upgrading skids, and upgrading hubs. This equipment will collectively handle biogas compression, chilling, water removal, CO2 removal, H2S removal, gas analysis, measurement, and all other industrial processes required to upgrade biomethane to a pre-determined specification that permits injection into natural gas pipelines or compressed trailers. The Process Engineer will collaborate with MEW project engineers, MEW project development project managers, vendors, fabricators, field installation team and construction managers, and other stakeholders to develop process and system design prior to construction and to confirm proper installation and operation in the field during system commissioning. Additionally, the engineer will provide support to operations as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing industrial gas handling equipment, a strong understanding of system optimization, and the ability to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability of our designs. Responsibilities Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up, and hot commissioning including all performance testing and certification. Produce design deliverables such as mass balance tables, P&ID’s, electrical load lists, and piping isometrics for equipment and facilities. Run hydraulic and process simulations. Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output. Work directly with the Goose Works PM team to effectively manage cost and time constraints. Provide process documentation and operating instructions. Qualifications & Skills Completed Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Proven work experience in process engineering (preferably oil & gas or renewable fuels). Excellent technical skills Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, and NFPA. Experience in process simulations. Working knowledge of process engineering software packages. CAD experience, especially in the AutoDesk suite (i.e. Plant 3D). Familiarity with health and safety regulations. Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. However, there will be periods of outdoor field work on site that may include inclement weather, heat, cold, high noise levels, and near various industrial and electrical equipment, moving mechanical and construction equipment. Physical Demands Must be able to move objects of at least 30 lbs., and use leg, abdominal, and lower back muscles to provide support. Some travel will be required which would require the ability to walk up and down stairs, and to enter, travel in, and exit vehicles and airplanes.
