Job Overview To provide family-centered, age-appropriate clinical cardiopulmonary care. Utilize assessment findings in a timely manner to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the healthcare team. Communicate findings in both verbal and written formats. Seek personal and professional development; ensure the safe operation of life support equipment and perform other duties as required. Take a leadership role as assigned, act as a clinical resource to other departments. May precept staff after demonstrating proficiency. Participate in hospital/departmental committees, special projects, and research. This position is per diem, day shift, non-exempt, and health insurance eligible. The pay range for this position is $50.85 - $71.79/hour. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and departmental equity. Responsibilities Ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, tracheostomy tube management, bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, sedation, blood gas, and indirect calorimetry. Provide primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge, and chart appropriately. Serve as a resource and provide education to students, nurses, and new employees as needed. Ensure the safe, cost-effective operation and functioning of pertinent equipment and utilize appropriate infection control techniques in all areas. Qualifications Minimum: CA RT Licensure BLS PALS (within 6 months of hire) Preferred: 2 years pediatric experience National Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care
