Responsibilities The Aircraft Mechanic performs organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance including inspection, operational test, repair, modification, routine daily, and periodic servicing, and troubleshooting on F-15 B/D, F-16 aircraft, aircraft systems, components, and equipment. Ensures flight readiness and supports and executes launch and recovery operations. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance with F-15 and F-16 (F-22 experience will be considered). Experience maintaining other military fighters and FAA aircraft is a plus. Possess a high degree of aircraft systems expertise with in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, special tools, test equipment, and troubleshooting skills. Familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems and able to maintain and service main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level and bleed air components. Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals. Must be customer-oriented. Plane Captain / Crew Chief certified IAW / Government approved certification program for a minimum of one T/M/S aircraft is highly desired. Physical Demands This maintenance classification activity is usually performed in a flight-line-like environment with climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking. May require lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Special vision abilities required include close and peripheral vision and depth perception. Work Environment Conditions range from minimal to inclement weather with potential exposure to high noise, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards. Requirements FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire U.S. Citizenship and Valid U.S. Passport Valid State Driver’s License High School Diploma or GED Ability to travel Must acquire basic hand tools and toolbox within three (3) months of hire US Secret Clearance Active clearance is a plus and the ability to obtain and maintain is required.
