Travel Nurse Job Details
Location: Tracy, California (95376)
Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Employment Type: Travel RN contract
Unit: Obstetrics Acute OB RN
Weekend Coverage: Required
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2480 - $2650
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active California RN License (required for submission)
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) provider certification
Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
Experience caring for newborns and postpartum mothers
Epic electronic medical record charting experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Two professional RN references from the past year
Availability for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in an acute OB setting
Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring techniques
Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including circulating for surgical procedures
Administer medications and therapies (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications)
Perform APGAR scoring, pain assessments, and postpartum care (fundus, lochia, perineum)
Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps, and monitor PCA usage
Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
Implement isolation precautions and maintain patient safety protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, social services, interpretation services)
Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
