Join to apply for the Nurse Practitioner role at Brown University Health. Summary: Reporting to the Medical Director, will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient, and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Mentors clinical personnel, and serves as a liaison with patients, staff, providers, and leadership. Can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Responsibilities
Provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests, and prescribe medications for children and adults. Educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Manage patients who do not require complex medical management or specialized treatment. Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients. Communicate appropriately with the person served regardless of age. Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner. Actively participate in the development/review of office policies and procedures. Promote a safety-conscious workforce. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Graduation with a master’s degree from an accredited advanced nurse practitioner program. Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Current licensure as an ARNP in the State of Rhode Island. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Knowledge of basic emergency department, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures required. Organizational and analytical skills to maintain efficient workflow. Ability to adjust responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining customer service and staff interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, clients, coworkers, clinical staff, and physicians. Progressive thinking for budget, training, and quality issues. Strong leadership qualities. Two years of related experience required; prior experience in medic, urgent care, or emergency department setting preferred. Work Environment & Scheduling
