RN, Cardiac Short Stay- PRN-Procedures role at Erlanger Health Systems. Location: Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TN. Employment type: PRN/Temporary. Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect care of patients pre- and post-procedures in the CARDIAC SHORT STAY unit. Prepare patients pre-procedure and assist in recovery post for invasive procedures, including caths, EP studies, radiology procedures, and pulmonary procedures. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive direct and indirect care tailored to age-specific patient needs as described in unit policies and procedures. Assist with procedures such as Radiology, Lumbar Puncture, Ultrasounds, Renal Biopsy, Liver Biopsy, Arteriograms, Fistulograms, PICC lines, Myelograms, CT/MRI, Cardiac Arteriograms, EP Studies, Pacemakers, and Venograms as applicable on the unit. Support the care team in performing procedures like Cardioversions, Tilt procedures, Paracentesis, Lumbar Punctures, PICC lines, Thoracentesis, and Infusions (e.g., Dobutrex and Natrecor) as appropriate to unit operations. Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. BLS certification, with maintenance ongoing. Knowledge of general nursing principles, policies, regulations, and current trends relevant to the unit. Licensure & Certifications

Current Tennessee nursing license; Multi-state licensure from a compact state or Tennessee licensure must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents. ACLS certification (preferred). Department Position Summary

The employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive direct and indirect care of patients pre- and post-procedures. The nurse must assess data reflective of the patient’s status and apply age-appropriate care as described in the unit’s policies and procedures. The Medical Ambulatory Care Unit provides care pre- and post for Radiology, Lumbar Puncture, Ultrasounds, Renal Biopsy, Liver Biopsy, Arteriograms, Fistulograms, PICC Lines, Myelograms, CT Scans, MRI, Cardiac Arteriograms, EP Studies, Pacemakers, and Venograms. Procedures performed include Cardioversions, Tilt Procedures, Paracentesis, Lumbar Punctures, PICC Lines, Thoracentesis, Infusions, with Anesthesia involved as applicable.
