What You Will Do Under the general supervision of the director of Heart and Vascular Services and the CV Coordinator, the Cath lab technologist is responsible for the provision of highly specialized services to patients according to physicians’ orders. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety and high‑quality testing, operating all X‑ray equipment, scrubbing‑in to assist the physician during complex angiographic procedures, and providing safe and effective care of patients having invasive or non‑invasive procedures in the Cath Lab during the pre‑procedure, procedure, and immediate post‑procedure periods.
Required Education Graduate of an accredited school of radiology, nursing or certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
Preferred Education ARRT, RN, or RCIS.
Required Skills Basic computer keyboard skills.
Preferred Skills Meditech proficiency.
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification Certified Medical Radiology Technologist, LVN, RN, Cardiovascular Tech I, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Certified in Basic Life Support.
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), Cardio‑Vascular Certified RN (CVRN).
Required Experience Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab clinical experience.
Preferred Experience Two or more years’ experience in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab unit.
