Job Summary
The Lead Communications Technician will act as the on‑site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. Their responsibilities include ensuring job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Reports To Project Manager
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Consistently leads major project crews, assumes responsibility for effective performance, and provides necessary training.
Ensures adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines; holds weekly safety meetings; initiates performance‑related communications and escalates issues to the Project Manager as necessary.
Coordinates with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
Fills all IES commercial and project paperwork accurately and on time (e.g., timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers).
Performs quality checks, coordinates moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross connects, and prepares red‑lined as‑built drawings.
Serves as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attends facility and construction meetings when required.
Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge, troubleshooting, and resolves technical issues as they arise.
Completes other responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation Salary range: USD $25.00–$35.00 per year.
Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements:
Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and capable of implementing project process improvements.
Promotes company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
Acts as the company liaison for interface with customer representatives.
Possesses proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, reading, writing, and oral presentation skills.
Able to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
Can see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear audible signals such as dial tones.
Will travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
Regular attendance is mandatory.

Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves, punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
At least a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and ability to supervise others.
Proficiency with listed tools.
Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
Meets company minimum driving standards.
