Veterinary Technician at Skippack Animal Hospital
A full‑time Veterinary Technician will provide skilled animal care and exceptional client service. Ideal candidates have prior veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for improving pet and owner wellness.

Salary:
$18.00 – $22.00 per hour, plus a $500 sign‑on bonus.
Schedule Hospital hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; Friday 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Saturday 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Week 1: 3 days, 10–12 hour shifts.
Week 2: 4 days (3 shifts 10–12 hours + Saturday 8.5 hours).
Occasional Sunday treatment shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Client communication: provide status updates, home‑care instructions, and pre‑/post‑op guidance; forward complex inquiries to veterinarians.
Client education: explain preventive medicine, wellness, vaccines, lab procedures, and financial commitments.
Customer service: greet clients, escort pets, ensure smooth transitions, and promote products and services.
Animal handling: safely restrain animals, assist during medical, surgical, and dental procedures, prepare for surgery, administer anesthesia, monitor recovery, and provide fluids.
Facility maintenance: care for surgical materials, maintain equipment and inventory, and keep all rooms clean and ready.
Record keeping: maintain accurate patient records in a paperless system, documenting procedures, vaccinations, and billing details.
Pharmacy assistance: dispense medications, prepare labels, and package medication appropriately.
Safety & technical skills: adhere to DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines; administer injections, perform labs, radiographs, ECGs, place IV catheters, and execute emergency treatments.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
