NVA General Practice
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to support our veterinarians by providing exceptional patient care and positive client experiences. The ideal candidate will be organized, service-oriented, and proficient in a variety of veterinary procedures and tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor anesthesia and provide post‑operative care.
Perform laboratory tests (e.g., blood work, urinalysis) and diagnostic imaging (e.g., X‑rays).
Collect and record patient vital signs and medical histories.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately for exams and procedures.
Educate and advise clients on animal health, nutrition, and home care.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile work environment by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
Qualifications And Skills
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and the veterinary team.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, or emergency environment.
Proficiency with veterinary software and electronic medical records systems.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
Ability to handle and restrain a variety of animal species safely.
