Director, Primary and Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Programs Position Type: Negotiable, Other Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications Track and Rank: Open (Appointments with Tenure require Provost Approval) Location: In-person at the College of Nursing on the University of Iowa Campus Responsibilities
The Program Director is responsible for the daily operation of the Pediatric Primary and Acute Care Programs and will serve as a strategic, academic, and operational leader in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Graduate Practice Programs (ADGPP). Collaborate with faculty and the ADGPP to ensure students learn through inter-professional, interdisciplinary, and team-based approaches as they prepare for future careers as healthcare leaders. Receive sufficient release time to support maintenance of certification, clinical expertise, licensure, and continuing professional development specific to the maintenance of dual certification in pediatric primary and acute care. Report directly to the Associate Dean for Graduate Practice Programs and their Division Head. About the College of Nursing

Education: Master’s in nursing; Doctorate in nursing or related field with a graduate degree in nursing preferred. Required: Licensed Registered Nurse, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner; eligible for licensure in Iowa. National nurse practitioner certification in Pediatric Primary Care and Pediatric Acute Care DEA registration and Iowa Controlled Substance License (or eligible) Typically three or more years of pediatric primary/acute care NP experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Evidence of formal teaching or preparation for teaching in an academic setting Experience working with diverse backgrounds Preferred Qualifications
Professional service to nursing/health organizations Scholarly record (publications, talks) Teaching success and service Progress toward professional productivity beyond clinical service Leadership experience or preparation; leadership in nursing education Education from an R1 or equivalent institution Doctoral degree in nursing or related field with national certification in specialty areas Application Materials
