Responsibilities Performs diagnostic cardiac examinations using multiple modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data of the cardiovascular system. Serves as a clinical expert in Cardiac Sonography, performing high-skill ultrasound exams and participating in lab accreditation and quality improvement processes. Mentor for other cardiac sonographers; assists in teaching students, residents, fellows, and new employees. Assists with workflow, scheduling, and rescheduling of exams; supports equipment service needs when needed. Demonstrates thorough understanding of clinical indications and all procedures performed; independently performs cardiovascular diagnostic examinations within ARDMS scope. Creates and documents findings according to lab protocols and IAC standards; translates data into written reports for physician interpretation. Consults with physicians on preliminary findings and coordinates urgent/add-on exams as needed. Provides patient education about the exam; ensures proper maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Evaluates and recommends new products and equipment; may travel to satellite locations as required. Supports use of job-related software and systems; demonstrates professionalism and teamwork. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited (CAAHEP) ultrasound program (Associate or Bachelor) or equivalent education and experience. Current RDCS or equivalent CCI credentials. Current BLS certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer. Cardiac ultrasound experience with multiple equipment platforms. Strong knowledge of high-skill level exams and commitment to professional growth. Pay Range USD $36.66 - USD $54.97 / Hr.
