Pharmacy Technician I FT Rotating

Position: Pharmacy Technician I (Full-time, Rotating). Sign‑on bonus: Up to $5,000 based on eligibility.
Onboarding Process Candidate must successfully complete a background check and pre‑employment health screening, including a drug screen, before being hired.
Summary The individual, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, provides assistance in dispensing functions: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation, associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinet equipment and inventory maintenance. Performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions for patients of all age groups, including inpatients and outpatients.
Responsibilities
Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner.
Fill/refill emergency crash carts, boxes, and kits timely and accurately.
Re‑package and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records.
Respond appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests, and ADC stock out bulletins.
Assure all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
Stock medications into pharmacy inventory, including sterile compounding areas.
Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
Deliver medications to patient care areas.
Attend to medication requests and phone calls.
Prepare simple IV admixtures (excluding chemotherapy, biotherapy) accurately, consistent with IV policies and procedures (USP).
Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures.
Assist in performing various duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
High school graduate or equivalent (required).
Experience
Must be 18 years of age (required). Preferred: Hospital experience.
Certifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician license/certification, as required by state law (required).
Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification (preferred).
Physical Demand
Lift/position up to 50 lbs.; push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force; frequent standing and walking; frequent reaching, stooping, and bending; manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all related duties.
