Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

General Responsibilities Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Convey results and testing requirements to project managers, engineers, client representatives, and contractors. Transport material samples with proper documentation to the laboratory. Tabulate, prepare, and submit written and digital reports for daily transmittal. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians. Adhere to strict safety standards.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Assist under close supervision, performing basic testing and observation duties.
Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy in preparation for submittal.
Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
Progressively gain training and responsibility in work assignments.
Maintain assigned equipment.
Follow safety rules and report any safety issues or concerns.
Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
No prior experience required.
Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
Complete related internal safety certifications.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification
ACI Concrete Field/Laboratory and Nuclear Density Gauge Certification.
