Job Overview Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state‑of‑the‑art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24‑hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world‑renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. As a Speech Pathologist, you will diagnose and treat conditions that affect the ability to communicate and swallow. You will assess patient conditions with the aim of improving and/or preventing speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders from birth through old age, helping patients open new communication possibilities and enhance their connections with others.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments and disorders.

Provide, interpret, plan and supervise patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.

Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed.

Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed.

Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members to assist the patient in treatment techniques.

Perform voice evaluations, treatment of various voice disorders and bedside swallow evaluations.

Demonstrate competency with the MBSs for adults and pediatrics.

Follow Code Blue protocol as per Clinic policy.

Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters, Doctorate or SLP‑D Degree from an accredited School of Speech‑Language Pathology.

Current Speech‑Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech‑Language Pathology & Audiology.

Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from the American‑Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medical speech pathology.

Flexibility to float between sites.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
