North Carolina State University is hiring for a Head Athletic Trainer within the Athletics/Sports Medicine Department. This position will serve as the Athletic Trainer for Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country. Responsibilities: Assisting the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine in interviewing, selecting, training, and overall management of assigned employees. Providing injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes and referral to associated health care professionals when necessary. Communication and collaboration with sports coaches, strength coaches, sports nutritionists, mental health professionals, and other members of Pack Performance units. Maintaining medical records on student-athletes including physical examinations and screenings, insurance information, and injury evaluation reports/treatment logs. Attending scheduled team practices and events and assisting with coverage conflicts. Providing emergency care when indicated. Assisting with proper use and maintenance of athletic training room equipment. Assisting with annual physical examinations, medical certifications, and drug testing program. Assisting with the preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for athletic training facility operations. Documenting services rendered consistent with best practices and third-party payer standards. Qualifications: Graduate of a CAATE accredited Athletic Training program Experience in collegiate athletics Computer competency Excellent interpersonal communication skills Must be able to lift up to 30-60 pounds occasionally. Preferred Qualifications: NCAA Division 1 collegiate experience preferred 3+ years of post-graduate experience preferred but not required Experience working with a Track or Cross Country program.
