Job Description Teaching Faculty I in Music Theory, a specialized (non-tenure track) 9‑month position responsible for teaching and related activities. Appointment will begin August 2026.
Teach undergraduate and graduate music theory courses from among current offerings and/or in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Collaborate on developing courses for students specializing in popular music, commercial music, and music industry.
Participate in university service activities, including service on committees, student recruitment and advising, and administration of area exams.
Participate in professional service activities nationally and internationally, as appropriate.
Qualifications
A completed doctoral degree in Music Theory or equivalent at the time of appointment.
A commitment to the recruitment of outstanding students and to fostering an environment that contributes to the culture and vibrancy of the university community.
Preferred: we are seeking a dynamic teacher whose academic interests complement those of our current faculty.
Salary Competitive, commensurate with experience.
