Position Specific Description
Location:
Renewable Operations Control Center (ROCC), Palm Beach Gardens, FL NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is seeking a Senior Solar & Storage Remote Troubleshooting Support Technician to provide real-time technical support for solar and battery storage sites across the U.S. and Canada from the Renewable Operations Control Center (ROCC). This role executes critical renewable operations support processes at an advanced level, including troubleshooting offline equipment, supporting field personnel during live events, modifying control parameters, and collaborating with engineering on configuration management. The position ensures control room compliance with regulatory requirements and involves daily execution of procedures, interpretation of trends and drawings, and operation of SCADA systems and asset-specific OEM software. Shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Remotely restore inverters and storage systems through resets, parameter changes, and approved TMODs. Create detailed Maximo work orders with job plans when remote restoration is unsuccessful or not permitted, documenting diagnostics and identifying likely failed components. Support live troubleshooting by guiding field technicians via phone and escalating to the fleet team when applicable. Collaborate with fleet teams and other support organizations to mitigate fleet-wide issues and establish best-practice troubleshooting methodologies. Additional Requirements: Advanced experience using OEM software such as GE HDM, GE ToolBoxST, PE PowerComms, or SMA Sunny Central. Minimum 2 years’ field troubleshooting experience on GE or PE inverters with a strong understanding of DC field systems. Desired Qualifications: Strong background with GE or PE technologies.
