Shift and Location Shift: Days

Location: 7727 Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, FL 32822

Community: AdventHealth East Orlando, a 265‑bed community hospital serving East Orlando residents since 1941.

Role Description The Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist IV (CILS IV) performs a wide range of technical skills utilized during a variety of cardiac interventions including PCI with STEMI, interventional radiology, vascular procedures, electrophysiology devices, Y90 procedures, EP ablation, or destination complex cath procedures. The CILS IV is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures, and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and hospital administration. The role adheres to guidelines and standards of professional practice associations and actively participates in outstanding customer service.

Core Responsibilities

Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, performs hand hygiene, prepares patients using aseptic technique, exhibits awareness of hazards, ensures adherence to regulatory standards, and enforces safety regulations; meets all required department‑specific competencies annually.

Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physicians as needed; performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training; functions appropriately in clinical emergencies; evaluates effectiveness of interventions and medications; performs within the scope of practice for Cardiovascular Interventional Technologists; facilitates timely patient throughput.

Produces an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient, maintaining authenticity and security of the record, and following prescribed process for amending documents.

Performs effectively in procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice and/or in an electrophysiology laboratory.

Qualifications

Associate degree required.

1+ years work experience.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

One of the following credentials: Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Technologist – Radiography (RTR), Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Cardiovascular Interventional Tech Cert (CVIT), or Licensed Paramedic (PARA).
