Job Summary The Sterile Processing Technician I (SP Tech I) is responsible for decontaminating, processing, and sterilizing instruments, supplies, and equipment by following established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of Central Service Technology Course or equivalent work experience (at least one year in central sterile processing).
Work Experience: One year in Central Sterile Processing; can substitute for Central Service Technology course (Preferred).
Communication Skills: Above average verbal communication (heavy public contact), writing/reports (legible handwriting and coherent writing).
Other Skills: Medical terms (surgical/medical terminology knowledge, critical thinking, multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, ability to lead projects, monitor and interpret results of gauges & research surgical instruments and supply companies); PC basic entry level.
Work Schedule Weekends, holidays, flexible, on call.
