Overview

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a fellowship trained, board-eligible/certified academic arthroplasty surgeon to join its rapidly growing service line. This position aims to expand clinical services in various counties in the Triangle region of North Carolina. The successful candidate will participate in on-campus academic activities that include resident and medical student education, clinical research and service line development. The role requires a commitment to outpatient joint replacement as well as complex primary and revision arthroplasty. Academic rank will be based on experience. Responsibilities

Maintain a busy clinical practice with arthroplasty cases. Engage in on-campus academic activities including resident and medical student education, clinical research and service line development. Contribute to outpatient joint replacement as well as complex primary and revision arthroplasty. Collaborate with department leadership to develop and grow service lines. Practice details

The clinical practice will be in Chapel Hill, with surgical cases primarily performed at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. This position will cover call at UNC Hospitals Main Campus. Call is 1:16 (1 weekday per month and 1 weekend every 3-4 months). The surgeon will have the opportunity to start the position with 2 full OR days. Ideal Candidate

Experienced Orthopaedic physician who has completed an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship (primary/revision hip and knee arthroplasty). Strong interest in research and training. Current NC medical licensure, or the ability to obtain license. Board Certified or Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery. Benefits
