Overview
The Orlando Health Medical Group (OHMG) invites you to explore a full-time OBGYN Midwife Faculty Hospitalist opportunity at the Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. The OHMG Women’s Service Line seeks a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for diverse members of our central Florida community. The OBGYN Faculty provide high quality care for patients at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. The OBGYN Faculty Hospitalist team members are the principal faculty for the Orlando Health OBGYN Residency Teaching Program, which hosts 29+ resident physicians. The program is structured as a hospitalist model with protected academic time. The position provides comprehensive clinical opportunities including labor and delivery, postpartum care, gynecology, and practice-based care, all in partnership with our resident physicians. The OBGYN Hospitalist Faculty group, along with the OBGYN residency team, currently manage over 3,500 deliveries each year. Orlando Health provides robust operational infrastructure in a diverse and collaborative environment with a strong presence of OBGYN Hospitalist teams, 24/7 OB Anesthesia providers, Neonatology support (142-bed NICU), and a traveler-free RN workforce. The hospital offers comprehensive care through related specialties and services. Responsibilities
Serve as an attending midwife to patients and supervise and teach OBGYN residents collaboratively with attending physicians. Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians and other OBGYN subspecialists to ensure a comprehensive care model for patients. Work in an acute care environment as a true member of the care team. Provide clinical coverage 24/7 across Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Gynecology, and Obstetrical Triage Departments. Participate in resident education as part of teaching and mentorship throughout clinical shifts. Work collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice providers. Flexible scheduling with opportunities to pick up additional shifts; the role includes night shifts and an academic component. Qualifications
Education/Training: Master’s degree (or higher) from an ACME-accredited program. Licensure/Certification: Certified Nurse-Midwife (AMCB) with recertification every five years; active Florida APRN licensure as CNM; current BLS/Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications. Experience: Prefer 3–5 years of CNM practice; strong midwifery background considered even if not meeting the years requirement; experience with first assisting in surgical procedures preferred; demonstrated passion for teaching and ability to thrive in a busy clinical setting.
