Medical Assistant (MA, EMT) - Physical Medicine Rehab
Location: 85 Seymour Street – HHMOB (10117)
Shift: Monday – Friday; no nights/weekends.
Job Description
Provides direct patient care under the direction of the provider, including vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, and virtual health.
Provides indirect patient care within the scope of Medical Assistant, such as scheduling, check‑in/out, referrals, chart preparation, and prior authorizations. Conducts point‑of‑care testing, quality control, and documentation.
Performs administrative duties and covers the front desk as needed.
Floats to other offices based on business needs.
Qualifications Education:
Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic certification OR equivalent experience.
Certified BLS provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 90 days of hire or job transfer.
All required credentials maintained throughout employment.
Experience:
At least one year of direct patient care experience (acute or ambulatory) may be considered in lieu of education.
Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
