Jury Clerk In the role of

Jury Clerk , you will perform a variety of clerical and technical functions in support of court operations. You will serve as the in‑court clerk for a variety of proceedings and provide back‑up in‑court clerk for weekend/holiday proceedings (after training). Duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings, preparing the jury room, testing microphones and recording equipment, announcing opening and closing of court proceedings, marking and maintaining exhibits and exhibit lists, preparing an accurate summary of court proceedings, and preparing, distributing, and processing documents resulting from hearings. Additionally, you will perform jury clerk duties. This will include creating terms in JuryView for trial and grand jury, routing all requests for excusal and deferral to the judicial officer, and maintaining and updating JuryView records.

Criminal Clerk In the role of

Criminal Clerk , you will perform in‑court functions for criminal hearings and serve as a key figure in maintaining the flow of court proceedings. You will announce the opening and closing of hearings, prepare the courtroom and jury room, and ensure proper functioning of recording equipment. Additionally, you will review case files for prior and pending actions, advise the judicial officer of relevant details such as bail amounts, in‑custody defendants, and outstanding warrants. This role will manage the preparation and distribution of court documents, enter case information into management systems, receive fines, restitution, and bail monies, enter arrest bonds into case management system when bail is posted, and enter disbursement information when appropriate for trust funds.

Court Case Manager 2 As a Court Case Manager 2, you will respond to inquiries in writing, in person, or by telephone from attorneys, litigants, court personnel, judges, and the general public.

Work Hours Full‑time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.

OR Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two‑year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.

OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.

Copies of your most recent two (2) performance evaluations, if available.

Work History If using work experience not already documented in your application, provide the employer’s name, your job title, dates of employment and whether full or part‑time.
