Responsibilities
Provides person-centered wellness focused support to engage individuals in treatment and to promote use of the individual's wellness recovery plan. Shares firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in the communities, and support individuals in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency and self-advocacy. Functions within the individual's treatment team and receives individual supervision. Has knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance disorders. Provides peer support and serves as an advocate. Carries out wellness rehabilitation for mental health and substance use disorders and support functions, including outreach, monitoring, advocacy, daily living support, crisis intervention, consultation to families, development of functional skills and appropriate behavior, and transportation to implement the individual service plan. Participates in special events, conferences, workshops, and training within the mental health system and community. Works closely with staff, hospital, law enforcement agencies, and community agencies and organizations, and documents all contacts and activities in the individual's records. Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent Must be, or previously have been, a recipient of mental health or substance use disorder services for a mental illness or substance use disorder and should be well along in the recovery process Valid driver's license and safe driving record Preferred Requirements
Certification as an Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery (APPR) Facilitator Certification and Registration as a Peer Recovery Specialist Some college Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace. Annual Salary Range
$42,217 – $73,880 Shift Differential
$2.00 for 2nd shift; $3.00 for 3rd shift Benefits
