A destination youth soccer club serving 12,000 players across 100 miles in Colorado, Rapids Youth Soccer focuses on “Developing Remarkable Coaches” through its purpose of "The Heart Behind the Crest." POSITION VISION Guide Rapids Goalkeepers through the player development pathway by providing oversight into goalkeeper placement, daily on-field specialized training, seasonal match analysis, and regular player evaluations. Be a representative of Rapids Youth and the Goalkeeping Program in communications and interactions with member families. This position operates in a competitive environment built on player development and club-wide consistency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operational
Be the main point of contact for all daily goalkeeper program questions and support for their region.
Assist in the execution of the Club’s goalkeeper development plan and support its implementation across the Region’s programs (Zone 1, Competitive, ECRL).
Oversee the day-to-day planning and implementation of goalkeeper training sessions year-round for all boys and girls goalkeepers.
Conduct seasonal recreational programming to develop and identify the next generation of CRYSC goalkeepers.
Coordinate the inter- and intra-region movement of CRYSC Competitive (11U-19U) goalkeepers in collaboration with coaching Directors and Regional Goalkeeping Directors. Ensure that all teams have a goalkeeper for scheduled matches and tournament play.
Organize and conduct annual tryouts and team placement events.
Evaluate goalkeeper performance in both training and match settings using objective criteria. Utilize CRYSC Veo and Hudl programs to provide video analysis and feedback.
Help facilitate weekly GK movement in collaboration with other Regional GK Directors.
Conduct post-season evaluation meetings with every competitive goalkeeper at least 2x per year (and additionally as needed or requested).
Identify goalkeepers for Elite Program (EDS, ECNL-RL, ECNL, MLS Academy, etc.) involvement.
Plan and implement off-season goalkeeping camps to continue the CRYSC goalkeeping curriculum during the Winter and Summer months.
Maintain instructed office hours. Provide availability to players and families to meet as needed.
Act as an ambassador for CRYSC and the Goalkeeping Program at all primary functions, putting forth the image of the club in a positive and inspiring way.
Supervisory
Recruit and retain quality goalkeeping staff coaches.
Supervise contractors and volunteer coaches. Hold regular staff meetings to keep all coaches involved and updated with happenings across the Region and GK program.
Provide planned sessions via SportSessionPlanner to the coaching staff. Communicate in-session adjustments as needed on the field.
Oversee the “GK Apprentice Coach Program,” which offers HS students a volunteer opportunity as role models and mentors.
Adhere to the regional budget. Submit contractor details to the Regional Manager each season, and provide monthly contractor hours during camp programming to the Regional Manager for payment processing.
Educational
Serve as the main point of contact for Regional Directors of Coaching, Team Coaches, and Membership regarding goalkeeper education, both on and off the field.
Within the scope of the goalkeeping program, support the Club’s vision to “Develop Remarkable Coaches.”
Develop and distribute weekly emails to players and families during the traditional Fall and Spring seasons to support on-field coaching with at-home engagement.
Educate team coaches on goalkeeper program processes, policies, and procedures.
Personally participate in professional development opportunities through on & off-field offerings, CRYSC coaching education, and additional interactive programming (coaching seminars, professional licenses, international immersion).
Advise and guide college-bound goalkeepers in their recruiting process. Serve as a liaison between collegiate coaches and CRYSC athletes. Collaborate with the College Placement Program (CPP) Director and utilize the SportsRecruits platform.
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS
Significant goalkeeper coaching experience in both small and large settings
USSF and USC coaching certifications. Goalkeeping Certifications are preferred.
Goalkeeper development strategies and implementation
Versatile and efficient communication skills for players of all ages and stages
Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Coaching staff recruitment, management, and retention
