Behavioral Health Clinician (I or II) - Inpatient Child & Adolescent Float, Supervision Available
Spring Harbor Hospital – Professional - Clinical. Req #: 52400.
Location: Portland, Maine Metropolitan Area. Hours: ~ 40 Hours/week, Full-time, Day shift.
Up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus for all eligible Behavioral Health Clinicians. Current MaineHealth member employees and former members are ineligible until > 3 months separation from employment. Bonuses may be prorated based on schedule.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of psychosocial needs for patients/clients and their families.
Provide diagnostic, preventive, and treatment services, including individual, family, and group therapy.
Work under general supervision and collaborate with other health/mental health professionals; provide consultation on patient/family social and environmental needs.
Develop and implement treatment plans, maintain clinical records, and participate in team meetings for discharge planning.
Assist in medication management support, academic tutoring, recreational programming, and behavioral incentive systems.
Respond to crises and provide intervention as needed.
Qualifications
Maine state licensure:
Level I
– LCSW, LMSW-CC, LCPC, LCPC-c, LMFT or LMFT-c.
Level II
– fully licensed LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT.
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field.
Experience: Level I – Behavioral health experience including internship prior to conditional licensure. Level II – At least two years of behavioral health experience, including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
Strong communication skills, ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and commitment to adolescent/child populations.
Required KSAs
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field.
License/Certifications: Level I – LMSW‑cc, LCPC‑c, or LMFT‑c from the State of Maine OPOR; Level II – Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the State of Maine OPOR.
Experience: Level I – Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician. Level II – At least two years of behavioral health experience, including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
Additional Information The Spring Harbor Child and Adolescent service includes a 34‑bed, 4‑unit facility providing care to youth throughout Maine. Commonly treated diagnoses include depression, disruptive behavior disorders, emerging psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, post‑traumatic stress disorder, and substance use disorders.
Units include: Northeast – Higher Acuity Adolescent Girls Inpatient Psychiatric Unit; East – Inpatient Child Psychiatry Unit; West – Higher Acuity Adolescent Boys Inpatient Psychiatric Unit; Northwest – Inpatient Co‑ed Adolescent Psychiatric Unit.
