Overview This position is for a Physician & Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine/Family Practice [IM/FP]), located at the California State Prison, Solano (CSP-SOL) in Vacaville, CA. The incumbent provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility, performs medical assessments and treatment as appropriate and authorized by the medical license, provides clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff, and may be assigned on-call duties.
Responsibilities
Provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility and perform medical assessments and treatment within licensure and scope.
Provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols.
Adhere to professional medical standards of care and participate in on-call duties as assigned.
Collaborate with the Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility, and other health care staff to ensure quality patient care and program goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
