Location & Shift Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia

PRN (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 1 PM to 9 PM; Weekends as needed)

Job Summary The CT Technologist provides direct patient care by operating CT scanning equipment to produce diagnostic CT scans that assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Essential Functions

Confirm that all pertinent patient and procedural data is correct.

Perform computed tomography procedures.

Properly position and immobilize patients on CT scanning cradles.

Make radiation exposures by energizing the scanner.

Perform intravenous injections and administer oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contrast agents specific to procedures.

Assist the radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures.

Maintain a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.

Participate in on‑call rotation and timeout as required.

Education

Associate's degree from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)

Licensure/Certification

BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required, and required upon hire to obtain from an approved source before direct patient care)

Registration with ARRT (required)

Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years)

State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is performed)

Experience

1 year of experience as a CT or Rad Tech (preferred)

EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)

PACS (preferred)
