Patient Services Representative

One Community Health Sacramento Base pay range $24.00/hr - $30.00/hr This position serves as a resident expert in their area of support by providing an environment of goodwill and optimum services to patients and clients. Department:
Specialty - Walk-In Clinic, Podiatry, Acupuncture, Chiropractic services. Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 5:00pm This role is on-site (100%) in Sacramento, CA (95811).
Essential Functions
Promptly and courteously provides the information and services requested by patient.
Takes initiative to seek assistance from others; informs patient/clients of the need to do so; explains who is being called upon to help; and ensures that all patient/clients requests are addressed in a way which minimizes inconveniences of all parties.
Maintain strict patient/clients confidentiality at all times.
Verify and update patient demographic information and insurance information.
Communicate appointment delays effectively with patients and providers; apprise patients of wait times, delays, etc.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and co-payment (HMO, PPO, Managed Care).
Create daily batch and collect co-pay, provide receipt, and obtain credit/debit card authorization as needed.
Explain terms and conditions of services and financial responsibility.
Answers phones as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
3 years previous medical secretarial/office experience required
Active CPR, BLS Certification
Preferred
AA degree
