Responsibilities MAJOR DUTIES Perform highly sophisticated computerized axial tomographic (CT) scanning of heads and/or bodies. Review all requests from physicians and other health care providers independently. Maintain record of examinations performed, scans taken, contrast reactions, contrast usage, etc. Assure that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters and other required equipment are present and laid out. Prepare and administer contrast material (IV). Perform a wide variety of highly complex magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations of human subjects to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirements For Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography) Radiology Certification:

Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. GS-08 Requirements In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the full performance qualification requirements for GS-08 listed below: Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes performing radiological examinations, to include Computerized Tomography (CT); and setting up the x-ray room or preparing or administering contrast material. OR Education:

One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography. OR Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
