Whittaker Road Animal Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Veterinary Technician — Full-Time

About Us We are a 4-doctor, AAHA-accredited small animal practice committed to providing high-quality care with a focus on advanced dentistry, low-stress handling, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
Deliver patient care under the supervision of a veterinarian (DVM).
Maintain clear and accurate medical, client, and case records.
Review medical records, treatment estimates, and discharge instructions with clients; respond to basic care questions and escalate medical questions to veterinarians as needed.
Guide and support medical support staff to ensure efficient shift operations and workflow.
Mentor team members and contribute to performance evaluations and training initiatives.
Assist with client services including appointment scheduling, payments, check-in, and courteous phone communication.
Participate in training sessions, job shadows, and working interviews; propose improvements to training programs.
Perform clinic maintenance tasks and delegate duties during slow periods as appropriate.
Identify areas needing attention within the clinic and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Respond confidently to routine procedures and animal care inquiries.
Contribute to hospital operations and patient care as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
One year of veterinary experience preferred.
Proficiency in laboratory procedures, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental care, and nursing.
Ability to administer SQ, IM, and IV injections.
Knowledge of commonly used veterinary medications and client communication.
Understanding of anesthesia and patient recovery monitoring.
Ability to remain calm in stressful environments, including emergencies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.
Schedule & Benefits
Full-time position (30+ hours/week).
Clinic hours: Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Sunday Closed.
Pay Range: $21 - $26 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
