McGehee Clinic for Animals, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team. Located in Memphis, TN, McGehee Clinic for Animals is an AHAA accredited practice. We are a five-doctor practice, with a focus on a family-oriented environment. We have been voted Best Veterinary Clinic in Memphis multiple times in recent years. Our areas of interest include internal medicine; diagnostic imaging including digital x-ray, ultrasounds and echocardiograms; orthopedic surgery; laser therapy; dentistry and dental x-ray. Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors. Take client histories, perform physical assessments, and record observations legibly in the medical record. Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and provide follow-up. Communicate patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel. Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples, perform in-house laboratory tests, and prepare forms for outside labs; call owners with results as requested by the veterinarian. Provide and monitor nursing care as requested by the veterinarian for hospitalized patients, including medications (all routes) and monitoring. Admit and discharge patients by following all admission and discharge protocols; educate clients on admit/discharge. Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, hospital wards, and other areas as requested. Proficient knowledge of practice software for dispensing medications, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage labels, x-ray and lab labels, and documenting communication with clients and doctors. Enforce OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards. Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by the veterinarian. Conduct tech appointments (e.g., pedicures, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, routine lab work, subcutaneous fluids) as deemed appropriate by the practice. Assist doctors in medical and diagnostic procedures. Place IV catheters and initiate fluid therapy when requested by the veterinarian. Assist in induction and maintenance of general anesthesia with a doctor present. Assist in operating room, recovery, and post-operative nursing care as requested. Perform client callbacks and updates as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Recent LVT graduates are encouraged to apply. At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience required. Excellent listening and communication skills. Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a positive attitude. Flexibility and adaptability to new situations. Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team. Basic veterinary medical terminology required. Benefits
