What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Lead and supervise the Paint Shop production team to meet daily operational goals and quality standards.

Implement corporate production policies, safety protocols, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Manage production activities in the Paint Shop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to team members to meet production targets and improve performance.

Ensure paint application processes, equipment utilization, and material flow support consistent production output.

Evaluate team member performance and drive continuous improvement through feedback, training, and development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.

Optimize use of personnel, materials, and equipment to achieve maximum productivity and minimal downtime.

Train and develop hourly team members to grow their technical and operational capabilities.

Learn and integrate Scout Motors’ operational principles and culture into daily operations.

Monitor and enforce compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including occupational health and safety.

Oversee overall quality in the department, ensuring adherence to OEM standards and customer requirements. Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain high quality standards.

Identify and resolve production challenges—including quality defects, equipment disruptions, and staffing issues—to minimize downtime.

Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment; ensure safety protocols are followed and take corrective action as needed.

Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and increase efficiency.

Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to track production metrics, report on KPIs, and provide improvement recommendations.

Encourage open communication with hourly team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments to maintain an efficient workflow.

Provide ongoing coaching and skill development opportunities for team members to grow within the company.

Daily attendance at in-person meetings and events as required.

7+ years of experience in a supervisory role within an automotive paint shop.

Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

In-depth knowledge of all paint shop processes, including pretreatment, e-coat, sanding, manual sealer applications, paint quality inspection, and paint repair.

Proficient in managing and optimizing Process KPIs to enhance operational efficiency.

Skilled in budget tracking and understanding financial metrics to align with production objectives.

Strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and reduce waste.

Effective communicator with team members, management, and business partners.

Professional integrity and accountability in the workplace.

Resilient and adaptable under changing production demands.

Flexibility with shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and industry-standard tools.

Pay Transparency This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and participate in an annual performance bonus program. Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including the candidate's skills and experience.
