PAY RANGE Pay Range – $23.51 to $36.17 hourly (actual base pay based on experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Maintenance Mechanic 2 efficiently and safely performs machine repairs and required preventative maintenance tasks. The role may guide technicians, vendors, and hourly employees on projects such as machine movement and complex tear downs. Duties include diagnosing production problems, performing necessary repairs, inspecting products, and troubleshooting equipment.
REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED
8+ years of facilities and maintenance experience in manufacturing
Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic components and procedures
Ability to read blueprints or building drawings
Intermediate computer skills
Ability to pass drug screen and background check
Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift
Eligible to work in an ITAR environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes a variety of complex repairs and PM tasks as assigned.
Troubleshoots all process and facilities related equipment regarding electrical and mechanical problems, explaining repairs to assistants or vendors.
Overtime and weekend work is occasionally required, so the ability to work independently without direct supervision is required.
Completes assigned monthly maintenance for production and facilities equipment when requested, checking the work of others.
Manages several projects simultaneously without direct supervision, possibly leading facilities specialists in projects.
Maintains administrative and production maintenance requests, SAP and email are used daily.
Assists facilities supervisor with coordinating any onsite contractors and may serve as escort or guide work completed.
Assists with building repairs such as painting, drywall, cleaning, polishing, and other repairs as assigned.
Must perform 5S activities monthly; may assist other departments with duties.
Works with all Managers, Engineers, and department supervisors on ensuring all equipment is maintained and operational.
Administers proper lock out tag out procedures for all repairs.
Utilizes a wide variety of knowledge in engineering, electrical, HVAC, water, plumbing, painting, and environmental activities.
Observes safety, environmental, ITAR, and P5S objectives always, possibly training other staff members and operators on these initiatives and asking as a model for safe work procedures.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines in SAP.
Troubleshoots and maintains engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment.
Reports any safety problems immediately, may act to resolve other employee concerns, may serve on safety committee or participate in investigation.
May be trained in the company forklift safety program.
May use a wide variety of dimensional tools such as mic, calipers, or other instruments to adjust machines or functional tools for machinists.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, orders, repairs, observations, and irregularities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES Standing, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently walk; occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Work near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate.
