Aircraft /GSE Mechanic - CBA - T-6 COMBS (Milton NASWF)
Join V2X Inc as an aircraft/GSE mechanic to support T-6 aircraft operations. Candidates should have experience in GSE maintenance, Quick Engine Change (QEC) procedures, and working knowledge of FAA regulations.
Essential Functions
Inspecting and repairing ground support equipment (GSE)
Installing and removing Quick Engine Change (QEC) kits on aircraft engines
Maintaining equipment records using automated maintenance data systems
Performing engine QEC build‑up actions, both assembly and teardown
Operating and servicing GSE towing vehicles and positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance
Ensuring proper housekeeping, tool control, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention
Managing hazardous material disposal in compliance with environmental standards
Coordinating calibration and maintenance of support equipment
Documenting and tagging all QEC components and related maintenance actions
Ordering QEC parts and ordering repair materials as needed
Adhering to company policies, safety procedures, and FAA regulations
Job Duties
Use automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records and document actions
Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine serviceability
Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air
Disassemble and reassemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components
Paint, stencil, and label GSE in accordance with technical publications
Dispose of hazardous materials and waste per federal and local regulations
Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles
Apply good housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention practices at all times
Work with repair and test equipment such as welders, torches, pressure testers, and electrical testers
Complete required documentation and tagging for QEC items
Order QEC parts from COMBS and track calibration dates
Record and maintain calibration logs and evidence for each piece of equipment
Prepare GSE for storage and transportation
Perform maintenance and inspections per applicable manuals and FAA regulations
Research and order repair materials for GSE
Conduct cleaning of warehouses, shops, offices, and restrooms as required
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities
Understanding of scheduling techniques and technical order requirements
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft engine/support equipment systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed technical publications
Effective oral and written communication skills
Customer‑service orientation and courteous interaction
Knowledge of contracting requirements
Working knowledge of logistics and data information systems
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum 36 months in aircraft maintenance trades or equivalent
Minimum 3 years recent aircraft maintenance experience
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
