The Specialty Equipment segment includes Anderson Dahlen, located in Ramsey, MN, and Waconia, MN. Anderson Dahlen delivers end‑to‑end equipment design‑build and contract manufacturing, with precision fabrication – cutting, forming, machining, welding, finishing, and complex assemblies – backed by engineering, integration, and complete process solutions including skids and sanitary platforms tailored to customer applications. Anderson Dahlen is ISO 9001:2015 certified, as well as ASME, AWS, and PED compliant.
Primary Objective Of the Position Operates press brakes and rolls to form a variety of sheet metal components within customers tolerances and company quality standards.
Major Areas Of Accountability
Provides optimum cooperation and complete information to Supervisor and other personnel, relative to projects within his/her assigned team, to ensure on‑time and accurate job completion.
Works from drawings, sketches, routing notes, and instructions to determine operational requirements and makes arithmetic calculations to develop formed lasered/water jet/sawed/sheared sheet metal parts.
Uses calculator to perform math calculations for forming operations.
Works on small to large parts where the tolerance and accuracy are normally difficult and hard to maintain.
Uses proper dies and automated back gauge to accomplish assigned tasks on Cincinnati press breaks.
Ability to run / learn how to roll various sized straight walls and cones on various rolling machines.
Ability to run the shear, band saws, drills, and various hand tools.
Runs overhead crane and forklift to retrieve material.
Uses tape, caliper, square and protractor to determine product conformity to requirements.
Checks work as necessary to assure holding prescribed tolerances to maintain quality standards.
Detects defective materials, unusual conditions or operating difficulties for reporting and relays information to supervisors.
Applies Lean Manufacturing efforts to reduce setup time, increase Fabrication throughput, and improve flexibility and response of the manufacturing system.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY
High school education or equivalent.
A minimum of 2‑3 years of fabrication and press brake operator experience.
Ability to demonstrate good working knowledge of shop math applications.
Demonstrated ability to handle and lift varying weights up to 50 lbs consecutively.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, routings, and instructions.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measuring instruments, and operation of all related sheet metal and fabricating equipment.
Maintains and determines efficient methods, organization of work, selection of proper machine, and takes care to maintain finish.
Physical Requirements
Lift/Carry – 0‑10 lbs. continuously; 11‑50 lbs. frequently; 51‑100 lbs. never.
Push/Pull – 0‑25 lbs. continuously; 26‑100 lbs. frequently.
Bend – 34‑66% during a 10/12‑hour shift.
Twist/Turn – 34‑66% during a 10/12‑hour shift.
Kneel/Squat – 0‑33% during a 10/12‑hour shift.
Sit – 0‑33% during a 10/12‑hour shift.
