Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
Location: Bismarck, ND (North Dakota travel nursing jobs)
Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)
Unit Size: 34 beds (28 cardiac, 6 IMC)
Assignment Duration: 13-week travel nurse contract
Start Date: October 25, 2025
End Date: January 24, 2026
Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (includes every other weekend and holiday)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2140 - $2290 per week
Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Dress Code: Navy Blue Scrubs
Cardiac Stepdown RN Qualifications
Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state (required for travel RN jobs)
Minimum 2 years of recent cardiology or cardiac stepdown nursing experience
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
Proficient in central line care, chest tubes, foley and trach care, heparin and insulin gtts, angiograms, post-pacemaker and post-TAVR care
Experience with EPIC charting, Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, and central monitoring systems
Must reside more than 80 miles from Bismarck, ND
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and IMC patients in an acute care setting
Accurately maintain provider orders and patient documentation using EPIC
Perform advanced procedures: chest tube insertions, titration of medications (including low-dose pressors), and foley catheter insertions
Care for patients with cardiac diagnoses: CHF, pacemaker placements, PCI, TAVR, heart catheterizations, and atrial fibrillation with RVR
Monitor and manage patients on BiPAP, heated high flow nasal cannula, insulin and amiodarone gtts, and heparin gtts
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including a dedicated charge nurse on day shifts
Comply with facility protocols, including badge in/out procedures
