Mobile Diesel Technician Level II Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics and other duties on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. The technician works independently, manages parts inventory, and documents work using the TRAIT application.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles.

Use handheld computers, pressure gauges and diagnostic tools to assess malfunctioning equipment.

Road test vehicles to verify proper operation and ensure safety.

Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle and conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.

Document all work on Repair Orders (RO) using iOS device and TRAIT application.

Manage parts inventory and obtain parts from approved vendors.

Communicate with customers and management to resolve issues and obtain approvals on repair estimates.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of related experience (or 5 years).

Certifiable hand tools for automotive service.

ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.

Valid DOT medical card or DOT physical prior to employment.

21 years or older and valid state resident driver’s license.

Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for extended periods.

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Certifications

ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609

Compensation Hourly base pay: $28.70 - $43.03 per hour. Additional incentive programs may apply.

Work Schedule and Compensation

Shift: Saturday – Wednesday.

New hire bonus: $2,000 – 50% after 30 days & 50% after 180 days.
