Maintenance Mechanic at Amcor Job Summary
Install and maintain production, ancillary, and plant equipment in safe operating condition. Perform general maintenance and preventative / predictive maintenance on molding, auxiliary and plant support equipment. Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedures to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and complete necessary repairs. Aim to minimize downtime due to breakdowns and preventative maintenance, and optimize the quality of products manufactured to the highest capability of the equipment. Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Adheres to Amcor Rigid Packaging Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Monitor assigned line’s operation while complying with safety, quality, production, and housekeeping standards by applying knowledge of maintenance and repair of molding, auxiliary and support equipment: Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic theory and procedure. Analyze, set up and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation: Molding Equipment; Mechanical Systems; Construction. Apply knowledge of technical requirements and customer-focused processing. Perform and document preventive maintenance (PM) activities. Maintain production, auxiliary equipment, and plant equipment in safe operating condition. Assist with education and training of other employees. Install production and auxiliary equipment following Plant and departmental standards and applicable local ordinances. Respond to production breakdowns and emergencies in a timely manner. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Assist in line changeovers. Interface with vendors and customers as required to ensure timely delivery of quality packaging. Welds and cuts steel and aluminum parts as required for repair or installation. May perform some machining in emergencies. Communicate customer complaints to other employees to raise awareness of defects and assist with problem resolution. Assist engineering in coordinating and planning installations and modifications of existing equipment. Support preventive maintenance documentation and activities and keep current with pertinent technology in the field of expertise. Train other employees in areas of expertise when required. Perform other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Leads. Job Specifications And Requirements
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred or 7+ years’ experience in a Maintenance Role. Some post-secondary education preferred (technical or vocational). Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Motivated with high attention to detail. Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment. Basic math, computer, and organizational skills. Shifts Available
12 hour rotating shift 4a to 4p Pay
