High Voltage Electrician (DD) – Dulles Discovery, Herndon, VA.
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 0600-1400. Position covered by CBA for Local 26.
Job Summary Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment in the Central Utility Plant and Dulles Discovery buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Troubleshooting of all equipment on site.
Be available off hour for emergencies.
Perform preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment on site.
Institute corrective action and/or inform supervisor of any deficiencies found.
Attend meetings with Client and USG and provide corrective solutions to site issues.
Monitor electrical subcontractors in their tasks and provide reports when needed.
Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisor.
Qualifications
Must possess and maintain a Journeyman License or higher.
Seven (7) or more years experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial‑industrial building electrical equipment, including but not limited to:
Switchgear ( Motors Control Systems
Transformers
Electrical Panels
MCC’s
VFD’s
Demonstrate ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and specifications.
Possess practical knowledge of electrical switchgear.
Possess practical knowledge of building electrical systems.
Must obtain and maintain an ISSA TS/SCI with Poly.
Physical Demands
Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs / push up to 100 lbs).
Prolong, extensive or considerable standing or walking.
Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, parts.
Manual dexterity and mobility.
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
