Location: 26664 Elwood International Port Road Elwood, Illinois 60421 Starting Pay: $31.85 – $34.85/hour Status: Full‑Time | Immediate Hire Schedule: 2nd Shift 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, off days Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday. Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain the mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems on a fleet of semi‑trucks, trailers, and hostler vehicles. Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and hostler trucks to minimize downtime. Conduct full vehicle assessments and execute timely repairs on scheduled and unscheduled service calls. Maintain detailed service records of work completed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules. Monitor and adhere to routine maintenance schedules, ensuring all equipment receives necessary attention on time. Communicate findings and repair needs effectively with the maintenance supervisor and team. Qualifications

1–3 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic on semi‑trucks, trailers, or hostler vehicles. Proficiency in diagnostic tools and mechanical repairs, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to work with schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues effectively. Familiarity with maintenance scheduling systems and keeping accurate service records. Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Experience with hostlers and forklifts is a plus. Experience with electric trucks is a plus. Knowledge of all diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, cooling, and exhaust. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions. Own necessary tools for the job. Valid Driver’s License. Must pass a pre‑employment background verification, physical, and drug screening. Preferred Experience

ASE Certification or equivalent. Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit diesel engines. Experience with hostler trucks and terminal tractors. Welding or fabrication skills.
